Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

No jargon. Just honest answers.

Most home care services require a My Aged Care assessment first β€” but this is free, and we can help you book it. For some community services, you can contact us directly. Call 1800 864 846 and we'll tell you exactly what you need.
Once you've had your My Aged Care assessment, approval can take 2–12 weeks depending on the type of funding and your needs. For urgent situations, interim support can often be arranged more quickly.
A Home Care Package is a government subsidy that pays for support services to help you stay living independently at home. Depending on your approved level (1–4), it can cover personal care, cleaning, meals, transport, nursing, allied health, and equipment.
Costs vary depending on the service, your income, assets, and what government funding you're eligible for. Many clients pay little or nothing out of pocket. We're upfront about fees β€” call us for a plain-English cost breakdown before you commit to anything.
The CHSP funds basic help to keep older Australians living safely at home β€” things like meals, domestic help, personal care, and transport. It's separate from Home Care Packages and usually for people who need a lower level of support.
Yes β€” in most cases you can continue seeing your own GP. Our aged care homes work with a wide range of local GPs and specialists. If you need help finding a new doctor, we can support you with that too.
